Creating a Custom Rubber Heater
1. What material to heat up (such as water, oil, resin, iron, cooper, air, plastics, nitrogen, etc.)
2. Voltage of the power supply
3. Initial temperature of the material, and the temperature to increase to
4. How quickly to reach the target temperature
5. Length of the power cord, and type of outlet
6. Type of the temperature control device (e.g., ON/OFF switch, fuse, adhesive, etc.)
1. Side punch with metal buttonhole that work with knitting lines, or simple spring, or belt mounting fixed buckle, for binding
2. Vulcanized temperature-resistant fixing adhesive (RTV). RTV is applied to the back of the electrothermal sheet to adhere to the object.
3. Double-sided adhesive if the size of the silicone rubber heater is small (operating temperature limited to under 140°C)
The size of silicone rubber heater ranges from as small as inside a palm-size device to as large as 3.5-meter-long. Multiple rubber heaters can be combined to cover a large surface.
The maximum power density (per square centimeter) should not exceed 1.5 W/cm² in general, even though some special heater applications might reach 3.0 W/cm². A reliable temperature control method is required to manage high power density applications. In addition, please consider both surface temperature in the air and heat dissipation conditions for the decision of maximum power density.
Use and Handling environment.
Folding the rubber heater is not allowed because that might damage the heating wire inside. To avoid unexpected electric shorts or open circuits, do not fold, tear, cut, or puncture the silicone rubber heaters. The heating wire inside a silicone rubber heater, which is made of Ni-Cr alloy, is placed as smooth-curved strings without sharp bends.
Silicone rubber heater is not waterproof, even though it is water-resistant. Do not submerge silicone rubber heater in water, nor operate it in a high humidity environment as the humidity might cause the heating wire to short-circuit.
The factory warranty is one (1) year in most cases. Special products that operate in extreme temperature conditions might have a shorter warranty period as the heat inside silicone rubber will cause material aging over time. In such cases, a warranty contract is required to specify the length of warranty period.
Grandhold is responsible for the quality and performance of the silicone rubber heater. Defective items will be repaired or replaced at Grandhold's discretion. The rubber heat must be installed and maintained in accordance with Grandhold's instructions. There is no warranty against damage resulting from misuse, improper storage or other operating conditions beyond the predetermined product application. Grandhold is not liable for incidental or consequential damages such as labor cost incurred in removal or reinstallation of the silicone rubber heater.
Price Quote, Sample, and Production
A price quote can typically be ready within 2 business days once the shape and the electrical requirements are avaialble. Samples of plane shape heater can be ready for shipment typically 5 business days from the next day of receiving the purcahse order. Samples for 3-D shape, multi-region design, or surface bonding, usually take longer time.
